Hi, chickadees! I hope everyone’s having better day than I am. I’m stuck inside house + apartment hunting and find it so stressful. Anyone else agree? Speaking of apartment hunting, I thought this would be the perfect time to give you guys a bit of a room tour. Payton and I have lived in our apartment for two years now and have totally loved the experience, but we’re quickly outgrowing it! Because of “blogger mail”, our house looks like an explosion of clothes and makeup and craziness! So, I made my room a little sanctuary. Scroll down to see it!
As you can see, I stuck to neutral colors for my bed! I love sleep and am totally grumpy without my eight hours. For my bedroom, I have two bamboo pillows [ like memory foam but better ], two body pillows and two standard sham pillows. Plus my fuzzy decorative pillows from Crate + Barrel.
I went through a few quilts + duvet covers since living in my apartment until I found the perfect one. I had a linen duvet that I loved [ there’s something about linen that creates this airy, beachy feel ] but Penny’s hair was sticking to it and it ended up looking messy. I was lint rolling ten times a day!
After spending more money than anyone should ever spend on lint rollers, I opted for a velvet quilt and sham set from West Elm. It doesn’t hold onto hair, dust or random fuzzy’s and is super soft! Plus the velvet material gives my room a luxe look.
SHOP BED + BEDDING
My “gallery” wall is constantly changing, but this is what it looks like at the moment. I switch out prints and decorative hangings depending on the season and my mood. It’s a small change that helps me avoid that bored feeling that comes with being stuck in a tiny room for work and sleep.
I like to frame prints, old newspapers, record covers, etc. so it’s definitely an eclectic mix! To keep things cohesive, I use the same frames as far as color + finish, just in different sizes. You can buy these frames in natural wood, white and black in almost every size you’d need by clicking HERE.
SHOP ART + PRINTS
This dresser was one of my biggest investments when buying furniture for my room. I know I’ll always have use for a dresser, because I have way too much stuff! Even when I try to declutter and cleanse my life, it seems like my clothes pile just gets bigger and bigger.
I got this little hanging rack from Urban Outfitters to hang up my new items! Is it just me, or do your clothes totally disappear into the back of your closet? If I shove my new dress in the closet, I feel like I’ll never see it again. Plus I like displaying my pretty new clothes in my room! They’re little works of art, in my opinion.
SHOP DRESSER + HANGING RACK
Okay ladies [ and gents ], come step into my office. It’s only steps away from my bed, but I try to keep the two spaces separate. Because I work from home, I’m at my desk for most of the day, I try to keep the space clean and decluttered!
I bought a basic white desk from West Elm and changed out the boring drawer pulls with more fun ones from Anthropologie. They have the cutest drawer pulls and handles…perfect for spicing up an old or outdated desk, dresser, etc.
My chair is actually supposed to be a dining chair, but it was super comfy and I liked the leather look, so I just bought one instead of a whole set…interior design hack!
The only thing I really keep on my desk at all times is my lamp, for those nighttime work sessions. It’s got a cork top, so I fill the glass base with shells I find at my local beach or during my travels. This may sound silly, but every time I look at those shells, I get inspired by happy memories of exploring the beach! It [ weirdly ] motivates me to keep working.

I hope you guys enjoyed this room tour! I’m actually moving into a new apartment in June, so there will be a whole apartment tour coming this summer. For my next place, I’m thinking of including a bit more color and fun! What do you guys think? Do you prefer clean whites or brights when decorating a room? Let me know in the comments below!
