Just from the name, it’s clear that Washed Ashore Adornments is the ultimate jewelry line for beach loving, sea exploring babes. Their pieces are handmade in one of my all time favorite SoCal beach down, Manhattan Beach, so it’s no surprise that this jewelry line is inspired by the ocean! Not only does Washed Ashore take inspiration from the sea, but they also do their part to take care of it. Keep scrollin’!
Washed Ashore uses a method called “cold-molding”, in which actual seashells are made into wax molds. This means that instead of collecting already scarce and dying resources from the ocean, Washed Ashore replicates seashells. The molds are cast with gold instead, preventing mass collection of seashells and other marine life for use as jewelry charms + embellishments. In addition, Washed Ashore takes “imperfect” pearls that most jewelry manufacturers throw out to create unique, one of a kind designs. As a certified green business, Washed Ashore creates pieces inspired by the marine life that they are aiming to save + conserve. How cool is that?!
Hanna and I shot a few pieces by Washed Ashore Adornments on our recent trip to the Emerald Coast. Each necklace is so delicate, perfect for layering and mix + match! Plus they are quite literally adorned with salt water pearls and sparkling gold seashells…major mermaids vibes! What are your favorite pieces from this post? Let me know in the comments below.
