Happy Monday, chickadees! Hope everyone’s week is off to a great start. I’m spending my last day at our family beach house getting organized before heading back to LA tomorrow…I love it down here but can’t wait to get back. Everyday LA feels more and more like home. Speaking of home, I want to share a look that Hanna and I shot a few weeks ago in SoCal, featuring a fair trade footwear brand called Inkkas!
Inkkas has the cutest sneakers and slip ons made by local South American artisans. If that wasn’t cool enough, Inkkas is also helping combat another major issue facing our planet…deforestation! In the last 60 years alone, we [ humans, ugh ] have cut down over half of the world’s forests. So sad, I know.
But, as always, the scary, awful facts I sometimes bring you guys are followed by a silver lining. In this case, it’s Inkkas OneShoeOneTree project! For every single pair of shoes sold, Inkkas works with Trees For The Future to plant one tree to be used for reforestation, food for humans + animals, etc. Imagine getting that familiar satisfaction of your online shopping order showing up at your front door, PLUS the satisfaction of knowing your purchase planted a tree halfway across the world [ in one of 19 countries that Trees For The Future works with ]. Good for you + your feet, good for local communities of artisans + textile weavers, good for the environment. Did I say good enough times?! Yeah? Okay, good 🙂
