It’s almost Valentine’s Day, and though I won’t be spending it with a cute boy, I’ve got something even better…a gal-en-tine! Whether you have someone to kiss on Valentine’s Day or not, I think this holiday is a good excuse to let the people you love know just how much you love them. There are stories of love all around…between a mamma and a daughter, a dog and its human, between two friends, etc. I’ve teamed up with Urban Outfitters and my roomie gal Payton Sartain to share our “love story”, plus a shoot we did up on our rooftop overlooking Santa Monica!
Payton and I got in touch via social media. We both went to college in Texas and were just about the only other blogger each other knew of in the entire state. Plus we both had plans to move to LA after graduation, so the timing worked out perfectly. Even before I met her, seeing Payton’s confidence with her blog really inspired me to go all in with mine, regardless of what anyone at school thought. I’m not sure if she knows that, so if you’re reading this…thanks, P!
The two of us hadn’t even met until the day we moved into our apartment in Los Angeles. To be honest, I was a bit anxious to meet her. From what I could tell on social media [ which isn’t a lot because most of social media isn’t real life ], P and I were totally different. She seemed so outgoing and in-your-face, while I’m more laid back. I worried we wouldn’t get along, but I crossed my fingers because I knew she had tons of cute clothes that I wanted to borrow 🙂 As most “love stories” turn out, we had a lot more in common than I originally imagined. Not only did we share the same passion [ creating content for all of you babes ] but we’d been through a lot of the same experiences with boys, bullies, blah blah blah. After a few nights of bonding over our obsession with crime documentaries, we became fast friends. Now all this time later, I really can’t imagine doing life in LA without her.
From the very beginning, P and I had an unspoken pact to support each other and lift each other up. Blogging can be competitive, but we’ve found that we’re a lot stronger when we work together. Whenever one of us gets approached for a project, we always do our best to get the other involved, too! It’s so fun to be able to work as a pair, and we love when people reach out with questions or proposals that involve both of us. It feels great to always have someone close to you who has your back, and P is that person for me. She’s smart and encouraging and an overall great roomie. Plus she’s always down to walk to the diner with me to grab a milkshake. What more could a gal want in her gal-en-tine?!

How pretty is my best friend?! It’s kinddddd of ridiculous 🙂
Whether you have a valentine this year, or you just want to treat yourself [ you should, you deserve it! ], UO has tons of gifts for under $25 for whoever you love most this year.
Big thank you to Urban Outfitters for sponsoring this post! UO was the first ever brand that P & I shot as a pair, so it’s a brand that’s near and dear to both of us. We love working with them, and we love how open they are to working with us! As usual, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
