Happy Monday, chickadees! Hope everyone had a happy weekend. I’m headed back to Los Angeles after a visit to Austin, Texas feeling a bit sad and uneasy about the state of our country and our world. If you’re like me, you may be feeling overwhelmed at the discrimination, violence, destruction and hatred that’s been swirling around. When I feel this way, I try to look for a silver lining, and often I find it in fashion! In the scheme of things, what we choose to wear isn’t nearly as important as how we choose to act, but you can make a difference when deciding what to hang in your closet. “How?” you may ask. You can start by shopping at Reformation!
Reformation is one of the leaders in sustainable fashion, producing most of their items in DTLA using only sustainable fabrics and materials. Over half of their fabrics are made with recyclable materials, and the rest are sourced from deadstock or repurposed vintage pieces. You can read more about their fabrics [ HERE ].In short, Reformation is all about “dressing healthy”, and in an industry that ranks third on the list of most polluting industries in the world, they put sustainability above profits and mass production.
Reformation’s mission serves as a reminder that we can make small choices everyday to reduce our impact on climate change. They dedicate themselves to making dreamy, high quality pieces that you can truly feel good about wearing. Next time you feel the urge to splurge, take a look at Reformation for a cute dress and save the earth while you’re at it!
