Yes, I said bestie *cringing* but it sounds cuter than best friend so oh well. Anywaaaay, hi babes! How’s everybody doing? I’m writing this from the airport headed to Napa for the weekend with my fam bam.
My bestie and fellow blogger Payton shared this set of us on her blog last week, so I wanted to share them too along with a few tips about coordinating outfits with your friends. Since P and I have similar styles and aesthetics, we’ll sometimes meet up for dinner wearing the same shoes or the same jeans (whoops!). While it’s a bit embarrassing to match with your best friend, it’s fun to coordinate sometimes. Scroll for some tips on how!
MATCH VS. COORDINATE
Back in the day it used to be cute to match hair bows with your first grade best friend or wear the same dress as your little sister, but those days are long gone. What’s the big girl version of matching? Coordinating! Coordination can be wearing a similar color scheme, like what P and I did here, wearing similar silhouettes, etc. Some of my favorite examples of BFF coordination are Shea + Caroline, Kendall + Gigi and Cher and Dionne (duh).
WEAR THE SAME BRAND
Wearing the same brand, especially from the same collection, is a great way to coordinate! Collections are designed to be cohesive, whether it be using the same textiles, the same patterns, etc. Sooooo if you and your bestie each have a piece from the same brand in your closet, chances are they’ll look fab together. For our look, P and I both wore designs from Flynn Skye by Amber Farr.
TIE IT TOGETHER WITH ACCESSORIES
If you’re not fully into coordinating, try starting small with similar accessories. For this look, P and I both wore Matisse booties. Using cohesive accessories is a smart, subtle way to tie two looks together.
